The Stapleford Park Golf Challenge
Tournament Format, Rules, Terms & Conditions
The Stapleford Park Challenge is open to both handicap and non-handicap, male and female golfers resident in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland aged 18 or over.
Players register at http://www.staplefordparkchallenge.com/ and will be asked to give contact details, and if applicable, their club, both of which will be displayed in the League Table.
Participation is based on players submitting Stroke Play or Stableford scores which they achieve to the tournament website http://www.staplefordparkchallenge.com/
- Players can register and submit scores from the 28th April 2008
- The last day for which scores can be submitted is 30th September 2008
Players submit their scores and the system software automatically maintains scoring records and League tables.
Only one 18 hole score can be submitted on any one day. The system software automatically calculates the aggregate points from a player’s three best current scores.
Stroke Play Score submission uses gross strokes, current league handicap and CSS/SSS*. The system then automatically calculates the net differential.
Stableford Score submission uses points, PAR and CSS/SSS*. The system then converts to a net differential based on the CONGU Unified Handicapping System.
* For all scores, if CSS is not known at the time of score entry the SSS can be used and then amended at a later date.
Verification of Scores - During the league season the tournament office will randomly ask individuals who are in the qualification places to submit their scorecards.
At the end of the season anyone who has qualified for the Stapleford Park Challenge Final will be required to submit all three qualifing scorecards along with their handicap certificate*. Failure to submit valid scorecards or a valid handicap certificate will result in disqualification.
* Anyone qualifying via the fun league will play with their Fun League Handicap at the Stapleford Park Challenge Final
In the case of 36 hole competitions, the best 18-hole round score should be submitted and on 9-hole courses, an 18-hole score must be submitted.
Submitted scores must be from games played according to the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews unless modified by local rules.
Tournament organisers may at any time make enquiries of players’ clubs to verify scores and handicaps.
The organisers reserve the right to adjust or delete a score following enquiries to a handicap player’s home club and to exclude a participant's score until confirmation of score is received.
The organisers reserve the right to exclude any participant who is considered to be in premeditated breach of any rule, term or condition.
Rules, terms and conditions may be subject to update but any such update will be advised to competitors accordingly.
The organisers accept no responsibility for any failure or delay in holding the Stapleford Park Challenge caused by circumstances outside their control.
If any winner is unavailable to take part in the Stapleford Park Challenge there will be no alternative prize and the tournament organisers will award the prize to an alternative player.
Players qualifying for the Stapleford Park Challenge Final are responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from the venue.
Decisions made by organisers are final and will determine any matter not covered in these rules, terms and conditions.
By entering the tournament, players agree to abide by these rules, terms and conditions.
